In the country,Myanmar, the media were tightly controlled under the military rules for nearly 50 years. Now the country changes to Democratic rule by Nobel Laureate Aung San Suu Kyi, but the control over media is still the same.

The recent example on June 26-  three journalists arrested by the military after watching the Ta'ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), a rebel group, burn drugs in north-eastern Shan State.

Opinion by Aung Zaw, editor of The Irrawaddy, "The return of a climate of fear is very disturbing, particularly after the National League for Democracy won a landslide victory in the 2015 election."
