Bago, for me, was a disappointment. Dirty, noicy and the river was a garbage dump.

We stayed som kilometers outside the city and that was a beutiful place even though ther horns from the lorrys kept us awake all night..

But there was a bit of charm of it afterall.. We had to buy traintickets to Mandalay and even it it really wasn´t possible to buy at the station in Bago, a bunch of friendly people from outside, a policeman and a station-officer helped us so we 12 hours later arrived to Mandalay.

I just coming back from Bago yesterday.. It is about a 70-minute drive north from Yangon. As Pegu, it was the capitol of the Mon empire for many centuries, a major trading power with a network. I love to go and see the Pagoda.. :)
