One of the most beautiful places that you can find here is the Kandawgyi Nature Park—a 150-acre recreation center that has gained widespread popularity throughout Myanmar and the whole world.

The Kandawgyi Nature Park is located at Natmauk Road and Kandawgyi Kanpat Road. Its serene beauty will definitely delight photographers as it delivers picturesque dawns cloaked in morning mist and golden sunsets dipped in hues of red. You can also find a garden and a lake in the park. Nature enthusiasts and those looking for a place of solitude will find the Kandawgyi Nature Park an ideal place to go to.

Playground for children, a mini zoo, souvenir shops, an orchid garden and numerous restaurants are also housed within the park. Near the Kandawgyi Lake is the Karaweik Hall where unique works of art are on exhibit and waiting to be explored.

The lake itself is artificial and its waters come from Inya Lake. It was created to give safe and clean water supply throughout the city during the British colonial rule. On the other hand, the Yangon Zoological Gardens that contain an aquarium, an amusement park and a zoo is also one of the interesting tourist destinations that you can visit in Yangon.

Tips about Traveling in Kandawgyi Nature Park

The best way to gallivant around this park is by foot, so better wear your most comfortable pair of walking or running shoes for an entire day of activities. Also, wear weather-appropriate clothes—light and absorbent types for summer and protective waterproof types for the monsoon season. Bring enough water to replenish your body’s supply.

You will find numerous lakeside restaurants nearby and these serve local food at affordable prices so grab the chance and try the unique cuisine of the city. You can also watch cultural shows that present traditional Shan, Kachin and other dances as well as the local traditional songs. You will never find yourself jaded as long as you’re in Kandawgyi Nature Park.
